2016 Dinner

Our 40th Anniversary Old Timers Dinner ... A Resounding Success!

The dinner was again held at the Polish Hall where everyone enjoyed a family style sit down

dinner of salad, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, mixed vegetables, and of course

Our 40th Anniversary Commemorative Video

Your Committee Volunteers who made this all happen

Angela Schornstein and Bill Lowrie worked the registration desk.

Mal Ball gave everyone a First Aid Kit and to each Old Timer and New Inductee an Aluminum Candle Holder commemorating the event.

Garry took pictures of the Old Timers and the New Inductees.

Total attendance: 144

Tom Crerar introduced the Inductees, with a short bio. Some of the bios were indeed too short, so Tom embellished them.

We are all curious about the stories that must be left unsaid about Herb Dueck and Tom.

Setting The Mood

During the social hour we saw the video of last years Old Timers Dinner, and heard some musical selection from past decades.

During dinner music played quietly in the background.

Both the video and the music were produced by our Webmaster Bill Bishop with the help of Garry

Alexander. Garry looked after the running of the videos during the evening.

Members Who Passed During The Last Year

After an absence of a few years, Rory Farrell again took on the sad job of naming the Old Timers who had passed since the last dinner. While the names were read Garry had their pictures on the screen.

This Years Entertainment

We made our own entertainment this year during a casino(blackjack) session, played with ‘funny money’ which was supplied.

Profits or 'funny money' left over was used to bid on items during the Auction which followed.

The door prize this year was a large stuffed Bear, which was in strapped in the front passenger

seat of Tom's car while he drove from Leduc to the hall.

Tom we do not have HOV lanes here yet!
